The Miracleo mascot invites you to the 2022 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship to Tampere

The 2022 men’s Ice Hockey World Championship will be played on 13–29 May in Tampere and Helsinki. In Tampere the games are played in Nokia Arena, which is located in the centre of Tampere and has good transport connections.

The Ticket Draw and the purchase right round for the 2022 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship has ended. Some tickets for Tampere games are currently still available. It is expected that tickets will still be available for sale as event structures such as studios and international quotas are confirmed.

The 2022 IIHF WM atmosphere can be enjoyed in the Official Fan Zones. In Tampere, the Fan Zone is right next to the train station. The atmosphere can be reached directly from track one. There will be tents in the area where you can for example watch Team Finland games if you did not manage to get a ticket for the game.

– We are very excited to host the Ice Hockey World Championship, and are already looking forward to it. You can access the new Arena and the Fan Zones easily right in the city centre. We welcome all the visitors to enjoy ice hockey, the brand new arena, and the diverse selection of attractions in Tampere, says Anna-Kaisa Ikonen, the Mayor of Tampere.

The mascot of the 2022 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship is Miracleo. The lion mascot appears in the colors of the northern lights according to the “Making Miracles” theme of the tournament. Miracleo will cheer with ice hockey fans in the arenas, the Official Fan Zones and various events before and during the 2022 IIHF WM.

Tickets will still be available for sale – it is highly encouraged to buy tickets from official channels

There are currently no tickets available for all the games, however, Heikki Hietanen, Secretary General of the 2022 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship, promises that there is still ghope to get tickets to the games that are currently sold out:

– I can promise that there will be more tickets available for the games that are currently sold out as event structures like studios and international quotas are confirmed. Just keep an eye on the 2022 IIHF WM communication channels.

For the first time, a ticket draw was used in the men´s IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship which worked out very well.

– The Ticket Draw was rather successful. However, we have become aware of problems with tickets purchased through non-official channels. Our strong recommendation is to buy tickets from the official ticket sales channels, so that the ticket is sure to be genuine and offer entrance to the game. By purchasing tickets through official channels, one will also receive an information package closer to the tournament and we can make sure that if the ticket price must be refunded for any reason, the refund will go to the right person. We do not have the means to ensure these things except for tickets purchased through official channels, Heikki Hietanen says.
