Join us to create Hockey Championship atmosphere! 

In 2023, Tampere co-hosts the 2023 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship with Riga, the capital of Latvia. The tournament will be played on May 12–28, 2023. As last year, Tampere honours the return of the puck in the world championship level, making it the championship of all time together with residents and the community. 

The City of Tampere invites everybody to create the best ice hockey atmosphere ever using the Home of Hockey theme. The City challenges the whole community to decorate their premises and organize side events for the Championship. 

Let’s make it the championship of all time at Home of Hockey in Tampere! 

See below for different alternatives for participating in the championship atmosphere with your company or community. 

How to join?

  • Check Home of Hockey theme and materials 
  • Design decoration and side events matching Home of Hockey theme 
  • Submit your event or activity to the event calendar 
  • Share information on your event and the preparation on social media using #KiekonKoti and #TampereHomeOf Hockey 
  • Share atmosphere, pictures and videos on different channels 
  • Challenge other companies and communities to join us to make the championship of all time!

    You can decorate your business using Home of Hockey theme, for instance in the shop window, on café and restaurant tables, columns, counters, ceiling structures and summer terraces, as well as in staff clothing.

    After filling in the form below, you will get a link to the material bank. From the material bank, you can download ready-to-print files with the Home of Hockey theme to be used in decoration.

    You can make posters, stickers, bunting, balloons, coasters, decorative bands and badges using the Home of Hockey print files.

    Share pictures of your decoration and how you made it on social media using #KiekonKoti and #TampereHomeOfHockey. Challenge other businesses and communities to do the same!

    Notice that the print files are to be used for decorative purposes and must not be sold to a third party. Use the material in accordance with the law and good manners. The material must not be used for ideological, political or religious purposes. The material must not be modified, and it is prohibited to add logos of a third party to it.

  • You can submit your event during the Ice Hockey Championship to the Home of Hockey events calendar Pirkanmaa Events. Remember to choose the category Kattotapahtuma: Kiekon koti -oheistapahtumat.

    How to submit your event:

    1. Sign in Pirkanmaa Events / Create an account 
      Choose “Add new” and “Event” in the header
    2. Submit the information
    3. Remember to choose the category Kattotapahtuma: Kiekon koti -oheistapahtumat. Notice that if this not done, the event will not be shown under the umberella event Kiekon koti -oheistapahtuma (Home of hockey events).
    4. Remember to name and describe the event both in english and in finnish. This way your event will show in both versions of the calendar.
    5. Publish your event.

    All hockey-themed events are published also in the events calendar of this page to inform ice hockey fans on them.

    You can organize for example pub quizzes, hockey karaoke, sauna events, or offer an ice hockey-themed menu.

    It is possible to organize side events in your premises. Remember that you might need a permit by the police to host a public event.
